Delta Electronics and College of Design and Engineering at NUS Sign MOU to Advance Hybrid Microelectronics Research and Innovation
Delta Electronics Singapore and the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at NUS formalised their new partnership at CDE Industry Day 2025.
SINGAPORE, September 18, 2025 — Delta Electronics, a global leader in power management and smart green solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) to collaborate on advancing hybrid integration of microelectronics through joint research and development.
The partnership aims to foster innovation in high performance photonics packaging and integration. Under the MOU, Delta and CDE will jointly pursue research projects, facilitate academic and staff exchanges, and share technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs in microelectronics design and integration.
Collaborative activities will include joint research projects, exchange programmes between CDE and Delta, participation in seminars and conferences, and the sharing of academic and technical information. These initiatives are expected to strengthen Singapore’s innovation ecosystem by linking industry expertise with academic excellence.
“Photonics packaging and integration is emerging as the backbone of advanced sensing to modern connectivity,” said Mr. PS Tang, General Manager, Delta Electronics Singapore. “Our collaboration with the College of Design and Engineering at NUS combines academic research and industry know-how to accelerate breakthroughs that can be scaled into real-world applications. More importantly, this collaboration is about shaping future-ready talent and building innovations that will support Singapore’s ambition to be a hub for deep-tech innovation.”
“At CDE, collaboration means working across disciplines, organisations and sectors to co-create solutions that balance desirability, feasibility, and viability,” said Professor Teo Kie Leong, Dean of CDE at NUS. “Centres like the Singapore Hybrid-Integrated Next Generation µ Electronics (SHINE) Centre, hosted by CDE, bring together multiple institutions in partnership with industry to deliver cutting-edge innovation. This partnership with Delta is in the spirit of collaboration, innovation, real-world relevance, and shared responsibility”.
The three-year collaboration will serve as a platform to turn research into real-world solutions, paving the way for new breakthroughs in microelectronics and next-generation technologies. It also reflects Delta’s goal of building a smarter, greener future together through innovation and collaboration.
