Delta Electronics Singapore Goes Greener with the NParks OneMillionTrees Initiative
At Delta Electronics, sustainability isn't just a goal—it’s a responsibility. On April 11, 2025, Delta Electronics Singapore deepened its environmental commitment by supporting the OneMillionTrees Movement—a key pillar of Singapore’s Green Plan 2030—through the planting of 50 native trees in Clementi West.
The selected native species, including the Syzygium cerasiforme and Tarenna fragrans, were carefully chosen for their ability to thrive in Singapore’s ecosystem, helping to mitigate the urban heat island effect while fostering biodiversity.
More than 30 Delta employees came together in support of Delta’s contribution to the #OneMillionTreesSG movement.
Launched in April 2020, the OneMillionTrees Movement is a nationwide effort led by the National Parks Board (NParks) to plant over one million trees across Singapore by 2030. This initiative aims to restore nature into the city by enhancing greenery in streetscapes, parks, and other urban areas, thereby improving the urban environment and enhancing resilience to climate change. As of April 2025, more than 700,000 trees have been planted, thanks to the collective efforts of government agencies, corporations, and community volunteers. The movement forms a key part of NParks’ City in Nature vision, which underpins the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

Undeterred by the drizzle, Delta staff donned ponchos, and eagerly rolled up their sleeves to plant the trees.
Trees for Tomorrow
Planted today as saplings, the trees represent an investment in Singapore’s greenery, contributing to future carbon sequestration and urban cooling. As they mature, research shows that trees can lower surrounding temperatures by up to 5°C through shading and evapotranspiration, making urban spaces more liveable. Over time, these trees could collectively absorb approximately 1.1 metric tons of CO₂ annually, supporting carbon sequestration and improved air quality, while also enhancing biodiversity and natural water filtration in urban areas.

NParks Director Mr. Shee Zhi Qiang (left) and Delta Singapore GM Mr. P.S. Tang (right) kicked off the event by planting the ceremonial tree.
"Sustainability at Delta goes beyond reducing energy consumption—we are committed to tangible actions that support a greener planet. As part of our broader environmental efforts, including our RE100 goal to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2030, initiatives like tree planting help offset carbon emissions and contribute to greener communities," said Mr. P.S. Tang, General Manager, Delta Electronics Singapore.
A Broader Sustainability Mission
This initiative follows Delta Singapore’s support of the 100k Corals Initiative, where the company provided financial backing and automation expertise to cultivate 10,000 corals annually at the Marine Park Outreach Centre on St John’s Island. It is just one of Delta Singapore’s many sustainability efforts. Last year, Delta joined NParks’ 100k Corals Initiative, providing financial support and industrial automation expertise to the new coral culture facility at the Marine Park Outreach Centre on St John’s Island, aiming to cultivate up to 10,000 corals annually for the next decade and beyond.
Globally, Delta is advancing its commitment to ESG through initiatives such as its net zero goal by 2050, its dedication to circular economy principles, and its ongoing development of energy-efficient solutions in sectors like smart cities, renewable energy, and green buildings. With these efforts, Delta continues to pave the way toward a more sustainable future, driving innovation and resilience on a global scale.
